Q. Does a man's & woman's pheromone need to match to become excited by each other or is it just the smell of any pheromone?????
You present an interesting question. One that needed some consideration and a bit of research! What I have found, searching the latest scientific literature is that there is still little known and much to learn about the powers of those odorless attraction chemicals we call pheromones. What the scientist do know is that there are chemicals that act as signals and play a role in social interaction and communication in many animal species. Though some people would like us to believe they have found a way to bottle the stuff, the scientists in the labs still have not determined the actual chemical nature of human pheromones…though they have some ‘guesses’.
Your question was whether there needed to be a ‘match’ in pheromones between partners in order for there to be sexual excitement. Interestingly, one study I read found that pigtail macaques and squirrel monkeys responded to the human chemicals believed to act as pheromones. Not quite a ‘match’ yet still effective.
Now there has been some research on the effects of other odors on human attraction and sexual arousal. For example, it was found that males are much more sensitive to smells and experienced up to a 40% arousal while smelling pumpkin pie. For females, the smell of good and plenty candy got their blood pumping to the erotic zones.
Lastly, I often hear from my clients how arousing smelling their partners can be, with the scent lingering on sometimes long past the length of the relationship. And we have all experienced the soothing sensations felt when smelling a pillow case or shirt of that special someone. But I have also heard that attraction to a partner’s body odor can change. A once pleasant and appealing scent can turn into an odor that repels…perhaps a sign that the relationship is coming to an end.

Wife is worried that husband has lost interest in her. » - Hello Lynn, I have been married for seven years and my husband is in the military and recently returned. When he was gone he came to visit for two weeks and the sex was great but now he pre-ejaculates and once he goes it takes about half an hour to forty five minutes. We both are twenty six and I worry because I feel like he has lost interest in me and when I see how he looks and is with other women, I notice he is not like that with me. I am worried and I really would appreciate knowing what you think.
